The Annals of Computer Science and Intelligence Systems (ACSIS) is a fully open-access journal, which means that all articles are freely available to readers worldwide without subscription barriers.
To support open access and maintain high-quality publishing standards, ACSIS charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) to cover the costs associated with the editorial workflow, peer review, website maintenance, archiving, and digital publication.
1. APC Overview
- Article Processing Charge (APC): USD 290(For international)/ 5000 + 18% GST = 5900/- (For Indians) per accepted article
- Submission Fee: No submission fee is required when submitting a manuscript.
- Authors are charged only after acceptance of the paper for publication.
The APC ensures that ACSIS can continue providing open-access services, maintain its editorial systems, assign DOIs, and ensure long-term digital preservation of each published article.
2. What the APC Covers
The APC is used to maintain the journal’s operational and technical quality. It includes:
- Editorial management and coordination
- Double-blind peer review process
- DOI (Digital Object Identifier) registration via CrossRef
- Copyediting, layout, and formatting
- Digital archiving and indexing services
- Website hosting, online accessibility, and security
- Open-access dissemination (no reader paywalls)
ACSIS ensures that all collected charges are reinvested into maintaining quality editorial and publication standards.
3. Waivers and Discounts
ACSIS is committed to supporting global research accessibility, especially for authors with limited financial resources.
Waivers or discounts are available in the following cases:
- Authors from low-income or developing countries (based on the World Bank classification).
- Authors who have no research funding or institutional support.
- Editorial board members or invited authors may receive a full or partial waiver.
- Special waivers may be considered for student authors and early-career researchers.
Requests for waivers must be made at the time of manuscript submission by emailing:
apc@e-csis.org
All waiver requests will be evaluated confidentially and fairly.
4. Payment Policy
- APCs are payable only after final acceptance of the manuscript.
- An invoice will be sent to the corresponding author with payment instructions.
- Payment can be made via:
- Bank transfer
- PayPal
- Credit/Debit card
- Payments must be completed before publication of the accepted paper.
ACSIS will not charge any additional fees (e.g., color printing, submission, or page charges).
5. Refund Policy
If a paper is withdrawn before final publication or rejected during peer review, no APC is charged.
Refunds are possible only in the event of duplicate payment or technical error on the publisher’s side.
Once the article has been published, APCs are non-refundable.
6. Transparency and Ethics
ACSIS strictly follows ethical guidelines for APC management, ensuring:
- Full transparency in all publication fees.
- No hidden or additional costs.
- Clear communication of APC details before publication.
- Adherence to COPE and DOAJ principles for open-access journals.
The journal ensures that the editorial decision-making process is completely independent of authors’ ability to pay.
7. Funding and Institutional Support
Authors are encouraged to use available institutional funding or research grants to cover APCs.
Many universities and funding bodies support open-access publishing and can reimburse APCs.
ACSIS also collaborates with academic institutions and organizations to promote publication support programs for their researchers.
